If you’re still on the fence or having a debate over DJ vs Band for your wedding day I’m ready to talk it out, ya’ll.
This is a BIG one for a lot of people because, for so many couples, entertainment makes or breaks a party! And you’re right, your guests will leave your wedding talking about how much fun they had and how good the food was and how welcome they felt not “can you believe they hired a DJ/Band?” You are creating an overall atmosphere and which vendors you bring on board to help make that happen is key!
NOT WHICH BUT WHO
I want to start off by saying is that picking a DJ or a Band isn’t as important as picking the RIGHT DJ or Band. Often, a person’s grievances with one or the other can be traced back to a particularly annoying experience with the option they are against.
DJ
I’ll be honest: I used to be totally averse to having a DJ at my wedding. I thought they were cheap, not classy, and could really make the whole scene lame. Then I started managing a wedding venue and was at a TON of weddings and met Classy DJ. Classy DJ can be found at a variety of DJ companies. They don’t talk too much on the mic, have practiced everyone’s names before introducing the bridal party, they know HOW to line up and introduce a bridal party (bye, bye club DJ), they don’t sing/rap/talk/pep talk over the music. They have presentable, well maintained, and working equipment. They elevate your event instead of calling attention to themselves in a negative way. They are out there and I would love to introduce you to them!
BAND
The worst part about working with the wrong band is the sense of entitlement. You are not Coldplay. You do not need a dedicated green room and a bowl of only blue M&Ms. The right band is flexible, respectful, excited to make your event a success, and knows the value of hard work and great entertainment. I can’t wait to show you what working with the right band is really like!
So now that you know there are Classy DJs and the RIGHT band - which are you leaning towards? I'd love to find out!
