I must admit I was kind of shocked to hear from Adam first about his and Megan’s big day. It’s not very often that the groom takes the lead on doing vendor research but Megan and Adam are a splendid example of “divide and conquer” when it came to wedding planning! After meeting both of them in person, learning what they were looking for in a planner, and taking them through what services I could offer to make their day run smoothly we got to work! I will never forget when we were having our ceremony planning meeting and discussing the order of events when Adam said, “I can’t believe we thought we could do this by ourselves!”. It really warmed my heart to know that something that could have caused them stress was off their plate!
The big day was here before we knew it and the Duke Gardens (aka Sarah P. Duke Memorial Gardens) was such an amazing venue for their wedding. Weather is always a gamble but we lucked out with a perfect day for a garden ceremony! I think my favorite part was having Sweet Water Ices at the cocktail hour. I love when couples incorporate the things they love into the event. A night of dancing, the bride and groom rapping on the mic, and a bubble send-off were just a few of the things that made this night so Megan + Adam!
